Secret Men’s Music @ ICMC in Cuba 2001

Secret Men’s Musik! was composed for The Door Project concert at International Conference on Computer Music in Havannah, Cuba in 2001.

All the pieces in the concert were composed from the sounds of a squeaky door in the Men’s toilets recorded by John Ffitch during the International Conference on Computer Music in Berlin  the previous year.

This piece was composed by arranging the samples of the door into an Abakua rhythm that is traditionally played during secret meetings of the Men’s Society in Cuba.
